Hayrettin Ökçesiz
Hayrettin Ökçesiz (Turkey/Aksaray,1953) studied law in İstanbul University (Turkey) and received his doctorate in Göttingen University (Germany). He worked as a professor at the Universities of Marmara (İstanbul) and Akdeniz (Antalya) for legal philosophy and –sociology. As a columnist for the daily newspaper Cumhuriyet, he wrote legal-political articles for ten years. He spent three years as a Philipp-Schwarz-Initiative scholarship holder at the Goethe University in Frankfurt a. M (Germany) as a visiting professor.
His work focuses particularly on topics from a legal-philosophical and -sociological point of view, such as the following: the right of resistance, civil disobedience, the rule of law, freedom of thought, human rights, research into legal facts, sociology of justice (such as corruption in the judiciary, judicial reform, legal training). He is Author of about 50 books.
